Salzburg, Austria Pt 2

Edelweiss is my favourite song in The Sound of Music.

Singing Edelweiss

The captain singing Edelweiss to his 7 children

This song, in the movie, is not only the symbol of patriotism, it also stands to be the symbol of a close-bond relationship in the family. Their relationship has never been better throughout the movie other than the whale of time they had when they sing Edelweiss.

With this reason, I’ll vote Edelweiss as the best song from Sound of Music!

I’ve purposely arranged this piano sheet at its simplest so that even beginners can play it. The song is at its original key, i.e. Bb Major, nothing else that I would like to emphasize here because this piano sheet is really easy.

Horror movies

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I like to watch horror movies, but I have a weak heart……

This is so unfair…

I managed to overcome the weak heart problem by covering my eyes with my hands almost throughout the movies. Those who watch the horror movies with me in the cinema are really unlucky to have me beside them.

Nope, I won’t do disgraceful things like screaming or laughing hysterically in between, but I keep asking them: “Hey, what happened just now? What did he (Actor) see?”

In short, I donated my money for nothing.

Besides a weak heart, I have a good memory, and the worst: A very good imagination! If these are applied at a good area, I’ve already made a fortune. But alas…

Damn horror movies directors, they are so good in using sound effects to scare me out of my wits. When I was young (I am still young now 🙂 ), I remember the Chinese vampires and Western Dracula are in the main stream of horror movies.

Then…along came the spirits. After watching so many shows like this, I concluded that audience just want to experience the thrill of getting scared by sudden occurrences or incidents, and they will wait for the truth behind the haunting till the end.

It’s old-fashion now.

If you survey what’s the top 10 horror movies now, you will for sure receive these answers:

  1. Ju On
  2. The Ring
  3. The Eye
  4. The Shutter
  5. The Phone

Goodbye to Mr. Goodbye…

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

I knew it! I will become an old lady who sits in front of the television watching soap opera and constantly weep with a box of tissue paper beside me!

Gosh, it’s already happening now!

And again, without any pre-alert, I just happened to sit in front of the television and saw this handsome guy…

Jo Dong Hyeok

Mr Handsome Jo Dong Hyeok (赵东赫)

The story plot is quite interesting as well. That’s when I began to find that my buttock has been glued to the sofa since then.

Well well, Jo Dong Hyeok is not the main actor, but he alone is enough to make Mr Goodbye glow. Plus the main actor and actress…

Mr Goodbye Poster

Lee Bo Yeong (李宝英) and Ahn Jae Wook (安在旭)

That’s it! The story of how Ah Doe became a statue in front of television for few days.

The first few episodes are hilarious but I did not expect to use up the tissue paper towards the end. Bad scriptwriters! They must have been working in cahoots with tissue paper manufacturers to boom the sales! Bad bad bad!

And that’s how Mr Goodbye was named. If you are interested, please see it for yourselves. Once you see it, please also try to hunt for the OST for this drama, there are several nice songs you may want to keep.

Among all songs, I personally like “Goodbye” very much. Sad and gentle, it’s a good piece to play on the piano.

Ah Doe strongly recommends all piano players to try this out! If I were to rate the difficulty of this piano piece, I’ll give it a 0.5 out of 5 stars compared to my previous piano sheets!

What are you still waiting for? Even if you haven’t watched Mr. Goodbye yet, this piano sheet is still a nice and easy assignment for you. Just remember to use more pedal to maintain the echo and of course…the atmosphere.

Nah, you don’t need any tissue paper for it!

Doraemon Theme

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Have I told you lately, that…I like Doraemon?

Doraemon Start

That’s the only comic that I know how to read till now even it is not labeled with number sequence. I am not sure why, but I guess Doraemon is more “children-friendly”, and that perfectly suits my childish character sometimes. Doraemon is so popular that their episodes co-exist with different languages: Japanese (Of course), Chinese, Malay, Cantonese etc.

Remember the famous “Ang Ang Ang” Doraemon tune as well? There was a not-so-funny joke related to its tune as well…

Question: What is Doraemon’s favourite colour?
Answer: Red…

If you wonder why…

Doraemon repeatedly sang “Ang Ang Ang” in its theme. Well, problem is, “Ang” means red in Hokkien..

See, I told you it is not funny at all…

Since we talked all the way to its tune, perhaps you are interested in the piano sheet as well.
