You are My Flower (你是我的花朵)

March 8th, 2008 by Ah Doe

When everyone is crazy with sexy female pop singers who wear only a few pieces of clothes, heavy make-ups and are capable of dancing along with rhythmic disco music, one Male singer joined the feast too!

Wu Bai and Flower

Hello everyone, I am 500!

Wu Bai (伍佰) is already 40 years old this year, and he looked fantastic even with old-fashioned gestures when he sing his new song: You are My Flower

Let’s have a look of the MTV before we decide to play this song on piano or learn the “flowery” dance.

Wu Bai revealed that this song was inspired by Madonna’s “Hung Up” during in one of his interviews. Yes, it’s true, “You are My Flower” is definitely the oriental version of Madonna’s song.

Actually, the piano sheet of this song is not my first priority to share at AhDoe.com. However, considering that this song is very famous at this stage and the hilarious atmosphere it can spread to the public, I decided to give it a try.

There are some points that I would like to share about this piano sheet:

1) This piano sheet is in its original key, i.e. D Major

2) The left hand part is mostly a resemblance to the 70’s disco style. AhDoe.com will not be responsible for any wrists, arms, hands, fingers and bla bla bla injuries.

3) “You are My Flower” is meant to be performed on stage with a band (How can we forget Wu Bai’s China Blue in this case?) and flowery dance, therefore I have added the chord for this song. Dear guitarists, ENJOY!

4) Lastly, the lyrics is also included. If you think you are good enough, you can sing, dance, and play the instruments simultaneously.

Prague

February 17th, 2008 by Ah Doe

If you are an art lover or a historian, Prague will definitely suit your taste!

This is my first trip to a republic country (although China is nearer) and that’s why I am so crazily indulged in it. Ironically, one day before I enter the border of Czech, the only relevant impression is what Miss Jolin told me years ago.

She said: “I invested my hope at the wishing fountain located at Prague Square in the evening, the pigeons are facing against the setting sun. This scene is too breath-taking that I couldn’t stare at it.”

在布拉格黄昏的广场,
在许愿池,投下希望,
那群白鸽,背对着夕阳,
那画面太美我不敢看。

I just want to verify that she is not exaggerating.

Guess what? She is absolutely right!!! Prague is worth the compliments!

Posts with piano sheets under one Category

January 31st, 2008 by Ah Doe

3 months ago, Chicara suggested me to create a page to link to all the piano sheets at Ahdoe.com. Yeap, that’s a very brilliant idea and in fact, I have been thinking about it all this while. I guess this is a very good example of “Great minds think alike”, and yes, I am selfishly giving myself a compliment…

Ok, don’t get mad, I will of course present this credit to Chicara too.

And today, I announce that all posts with any embedded piano sheets or music scores will be grouped under the Piano Sheets category.

Ah Doe’s readers will be able to dip into this Category with a resourceful of piano sheets starting from today!

An Orchestral Version of Gong Xi Gong Xi

January 27th, 2008 by Ah Doe

Besides writing piano musical scores, Ah Doe volunteered to “expand” the musical instruments list for this famous Chinese New Year song.

Gong Xi Gong Xi Orchestra Musical Score Preview

A Preview of Gong Xi Gong Xi, an orchestral version

Due to the fact that this song is re-arranged for Chinese traditional orchestras, the musical instruments chosen are mainly and exclusively for them. Some notable instruments are Yangqin (Introduced in one of my posts earlier), Zhong Ruan, Pipa, Liu Qin, Er Hu and etc. I will blog about these instruments in the future.

I have reserved the full version of this piece of musical score for some orchestras so that they can perform it during this Chinese New Year season. However, if you are still interested in it, whether for individual or group (Orchestra I supposed) purpose, you can always contact me at callme@ahdoe.com .

For the second time, Ah Doe wishes you a happy and blessed year ahead!
