Maria from 200 Pounds Beauty, in original key (B Major)

August 3rd, 2008 by Ah Doe

When I write this entry today, I actually felt that the 200 Pounds Beauty heatwave is over. Boutique shops stopped playing this song, the sudden ringtones in MRT and public buses have changed to the mechanic + digitized sound from transformer. (Actually transformer is also not “IN” enough)

The reason I re-post this is because some readers requested for this piano sheet in its original key. I do not know how many of you out there dislike piano sheets with lots of black keys in it, but I am one of them. The urge for convenience prompted my laziness to design this piano sheet in C Major last year, although I’ve already announced that this song is in B Major.

Now you’ll have two piano sheets of Maria from 200 Pounds Beauty the Korean Movie in different keys: One in C Major and another one in B Major, which is the original key.

There are totally NO DIFFERENCE except the key signatures. Both are equally nice…

Love Story from Korean Drama Pure 19 – By Request

July 31st, 2008 by Ah Doe

If you have been following my blog, you will notice that one of my readers is yearning for a piano sheet from the latest Korean Drama shown at Channel U.

Too bad, it took me longer to finish this piano sheet because I’m not supplied with any MP3s for reference. Nope, I don’t have television here too, and this makes me kinda outdated.

Luckily, there is this thing called YouTube where you can search for some clips or MTVs.

Hi Xiiaojun, I hope I got the correct song… 🙂

Upon google-ing, I realized this adorable and beautiful actress is called Goo Hye sun (具惠善) and she has appeared in another Korean Drama called Seo Dong Yo (薯童谣).

She was only one of the supporting actresses then…(Ah Doe: No wonder she looks so familiar)

Obviously, she’s achieved a remarkable milestone in her career within these 2 years, both in filming and singing!

If you like her singing and this theme song from Pure 19 (19岁的纯情/ 加油!菊花), I guess this is what you’re looking for…

This piano sheet is in its original key. i.e. C Major (Finally something without black keys!), chords included and very straightforward!

Too bad, I don’t speak/ read/ understand Korean. Therefore there is no lyrics in this piano sheet. A little flaw here but hopefully this doesn’t discourage you.

A Scout of Talent (伯乐) by Yoga Lin (林宥嘉) – By Request

July 22nd, 2008 by Ah Doe

This post is all about Yoga

Doing Yoga

Sorry…not this Yoga…

Yoga Lin (林宥嘉)’s Latest Album – Mysterious Guest (神秘嘉宾)

I knew Yoga Lin through the Taiwan Star Search Show, but his fame is still slightly behind Xiao Jing Teng (萧敬腾) and Jerry Yang (杨宗纬), until I listen to his songs through Yes933 lately.

Wow…his voice is the best instrument of all musical instruments I can find in the arrangement. Just one thing that he can still improve: his gesture and pose. Did you notice that he’d swing like a monkey when he is singing happier songs? Nah nah nah…this could have spoilt his stage show.

Back to the topic…this song is requested by a reader.

Hi Ah Doe,

Hello! I am a reader of you website- ahdoe.com! Thank You so much for sharing with us so many piano scores. Do you listen to Lin You Jia’s songs?I feel that he is very talented! Do you have any of his piano scores??

The songs that I like are:
伯乐
我爱的人
那首歌
心有林夕
残酷月光
神秘嘉宾

Thanks to this reader, I managed to focus on Yoga’s album with your recommendation and amazingly, I found his album much better than Jerry Yang’s (No bad feelings, just being honest…).

To satisfy his request, I’ve chosen to transcribe Yoga Lin’s “伯乐” (A talent scout, pronounced as “Bo Le”) and upload the piano sheet here. Part of the reason is because I like its melody as well.

This piano sheet is based on the song’s original key. If you can sing it, congratulation! You have the pitch range of Yoga’s!

The chorus, also the beginning verse is always in G Major, other than that, the song is in E Major. Just remember to pay attention at the key signature as it may switch suddenly.

Lyrics, chords included, as usual, for the convenience of all…

A Piano Sheet from Korean Drama Coffee Prince 1st Shop – By Request

July 17th, 2008 by Ah Doe

I have been tied up with lots of things lately, mostly job related stuffs. I have not been working OT till late night for ages, therefore the best word that fits perfectly in my situation now is: Fatique!

Last week, I received an email from my reader about her request for songs from a Korean Drama called Coffee Prince 1st Shop.

Hello Ah Doe,

I’ve tried your rainbow song from Jay Chou and it sounded perfect. I keep playing over and over again… thank you for sharing! 🙂

I wanna ask, do you erm, do requests? I have 2 piano song pieces from a Korean movie but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Not even in the Korean sheet music sites. What’s worst, I don’t even know the exact titles of the song. (I searched through the ost categories). So I’m wondering if you could put the songs into proper sheet music for me. I can give you their MP3s if you’d take up my request. so, will you?

PS: These songs are played in the ‘Coffee Prince’ drama for their episodal scenes. So maybe that’s why I can’t find them because they’re ‘scene’ songs…

Thank you 🙂

And that’s the reason behind the creation of this piano sheet you see below…

Firstly, triggered by a request

Secondly, due to the reason that I have also watched this drama before (Although I can’t even remember at which scene this music was played)

Thirdly, the music itself sounds pleasant

And it’s name is May Second – Giving Tree

*ahem* Strange name for me~

This piano sheet is designed at its original key, E Major. I’ve left out the guitar chords intentionally because this song is meant to be an instrumental piano piece.

Don’t worry about the lyrics, as I mentioned, this song is “instrumental”. If you prefer, you can imitate the idea from “Sound of Music”:

When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything

Just joking, again…

Well, back to the most important thing:

How does Singapore look like from above?

July 11th, 2008 by Ah Doe

Supposingly, I am not allowed to take photograph from the airplane, and especially when it is still flying…

So…..shh…..

I was flying from Kuching to Johor Bahru alone. Nothing to do, nothing to eat because I was taking the cheap budget airline. While wondering when I can see the horn-bill land again, I secretly took this photo.

 Last Point of Sarawak
The Last Point of Sarawak

Sarawak, or I should say that the whole Borneo Island is densely covered with dark green tropical forest, crawled with several muddy rivers and filled with thick clouds in its sky. Humid and wet, this island naturally became a good place to farm tropical forests and animals.

Around 45 minutes later, I saw an island country which is packed with buildings.

What a huge contrast! A primitive land and a tiny little island filled with so many people, so many buildings. Suddenly in my mind, I think that living in big cities is kinda stressful and suffocating. Although the aerial view of Singapore has its charm, I am somehow turned off by it.

Think of it positively, Singapore is still very well organized though.

Have you spotted the JB – Singapore Causeway?

So that’s it, I am heading towards Singapore with a new job, new life. I am a little sad when I think that I can’t even go home often once I start this routine work, even if the plane ride is only 1 hour…
