AhDoe – Music as an International Language

Luckily I’ve expected the movie plot to be in this way, if not I’ll join the audience in tears.

This is also the reason why Departure (おくりびと，入殓师) won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscar.

Basically the film discusses death in another point of view. It’s sad but somehow I can’t control myself from laughing at certain scenes because of the hillarious dialogue. Watching this film is like riding a roller coaster in short, at one point you can’t stop laughing and while you are still unprepared for what happens next, the movie reminds you of reality.

Guess this is why it touches people’s heart too.

The main actor in the movie, Masahiro Motoki (本木雅弘) is a former cellist who then switched his profession by chance. One of the main soundtrack is Memory, with cello as the leading instrument and accompanied by piano which is composed by Joe Hisaishi (久石让), who is best known for his work in Hayao Miyazaki’s (宫崎骏) animated feature films.

Just watched Twilight recently. The cinematography is nice, and really romantic for teens. I guessed I’m too old for it. Anyway, it serves as a nice popcorn break after work.

I can barely recognize Kristen Stewart although I knew that she was the child actor in Panic Room years ago. As for Robert Pattinson, I have to agree that this cute little guy is so stylish that I bet even aunties will scream for him! Now I can foresee the fight between him, Zac Efron from High Musical and Shia LaBeouf from Transformers to becoming the next hottest star.

I know I shouldn’t spoil the romance of Twilight, but I’d really like to share this “Twilight Trailer Spoof” with you all. Make sure you don’t watch this spoof video before you see the real Twilight movie ok?

From now onwards the original Twilight movie seems so funny than ever. Blame this spoof!

Khalil Fong’s (方大同) Love Love Love (愛愛愛) from THIS LOVE album.

Frankly speaking, I’ve considered transcribing this song before but backed off when I noticed that there are so much Jazz in it. To elaborate further, Jazz comprises of hell lot of semitones and rhythmic bass, which is not an easy task.

The most touching phrase that I want to say is: For the sake of my readers/ requesters, I still did it!

Khalil Fong’s (方大同) Love Love Love (爱爱爱) Piano Sheet Preview

This time I did it more differently. I simplified the chords and make the whole piece sounds cleaner than my usual style, hoping that this could accommodate more younger players.

For those who don’t know who is Khalil Fong or Fang Da Tong in Mandarin, he’s one of the fastest rising artists who can sing, compose and produce music on his own. He’s only 26 now, borned in Hawaii, lived in Shanghai and Hong Kong before. Looks not so handsome to me lah, but hey! Who cares anyway…

Let’s focus at his music then. 🙂

I haven’t get back to J dramas for some time. Sad to say, my last Japanese drama was Kindaichi (金田一少年事件簿), which was 5 years back during my university time.

And all this while, Korean dramas surpassed the Japanese dramas with their exceptional romantic stories.

My first J-drama after school time is: Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (花ざかりの君だちえ), or known as 花样少男少女 in Chinese.
