AhDoe – Music as an International Language

I recalled that I just got to know Corrinne May through newspaper last year, and I’ve blogged about her during last year’s September at AhDoe.com.

Compared to Beyonce, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas who constantly dominate the hits radio from morning to night (Frankly speaking, their songs have been so popular that they appeared in countless type of Remix versions till now!), Corrinne May is not so lucky. Perhaps Light and Easy audience tend to have greater chances of listening to her in air.

After arranging so many musical scores and posting them to my blog, I’ve received emails and requests for Corrinne May’s piano sheets.

Not that I don’t like her. In fact, I really think that she is a very talented singer and music writer who deserves our recognition and support. Just that her songs rarely appear in radio stations or televisions.

Just few days ago, I began my work immediately once I received the source, and this is what I have today! (Clap clap~)

Some remarkable attempts during the creation of this piano sheet that I would like to share with you all:

1) My first piano sheet that separates piano accompaniment and main melody.

2) The most complete version in history that includes lyrics, guitar chords, main melody and accompaniment. Previous versions do not offer such clear distinguishment.

3) Usually piano sheets come together with brief introduction of album and singer. This is an exception. Introduction first, then piano sheet and, it took me 6 months to get the source after listening to the song.

4) A hell lot of imperfect chords that make the creation tougher.

Wu Bai (伍佰) is already 40 years old this year, and he looked fantastic even with old-fashioned gestures when he sing his new song: You are My Flower

Let’s have a look of the MTV before we decide to play this song on piano or learn the “flowery” dance.

Wu Bai revealed that this song was inspired by Madonna’s “Hung Up” during in one of his interviews. Yes, it’s true, “You are My Flower” is definitely the oriental version of Madonna’s song.

Actually, the piano sheet of this song is not my first priority to share at AhDoe.com. However, considering that this song is very famous at this stage and the hilarious atmosphere it can spread to the public, I decided to give it a try.

There are some points that I would like to share about this piano sheet:

1) This piano sheet is in its original key, i.e. D Major

2) The left hand part is mostly a resemblance to the 70’s disco style. AhDoe.com will not be responsible for any wrists, arms, hands, fingers and bla bla bla injuries.

3) “You are My Flower” is meant to be performed on stage with a band (How can we forget Wu Bai’s China Blue in this case?) and flowery dance, therefore I have added the chord for this song. Dear guitarists, ENJOY!

4) Lastly, the lyrics is also included. If you think you are good enough, you can sing, dance, and play the instruments simultaneously.

“Suddenly I see” is one of my favourite songs recently, and I’m having fun with the piano arrangement. Wee~

Sang by KT Tunstall, a Scottish singer who looks young but sounds mature in this album which was released in 2005.

Oh gosh, how come I’m always late at nice things?

By the way, this song has been playing at the radio stations, boutique shops, movie series or some other places that I could not even remember. The chorus part is catchy with “So there I see….” and sounds so stylish. I guessed without KT Tunstall, it won’t be legendary.

This song is in D Major, so is the piano arrangement. 2 black notes will not be fatal I guess. So, let’s enjoy playing it and be rhythmic!

Besides the infamous “The Cowboy is Busy“(牛仔很忙) from Jay’s latest album, his “Rainbow” (彩虹) is getting a lot of attention as well.

With a simple accompaniment with guitar at the beginning, this song is gentle, sweet but sounds a little tragic when you understand its content and especially after you have watched its MTV.

Sze Ping’s Not Blind

Previously there was Mathathir, the latest is Badawi. Rumours said that the election led by prime minister is coming.

I have completed my registration as a qualified voter. This will be my first time to vote according to my will.

I met several small-sized kids and asked them whether they will be participating. They told me that they are still too young to vote.

I felt surprised and realized that you can only exercise your right as a resident when you turn 21.

(I heard that~)

Election is coming! Election is coming! Why are you still hesitating? Go register yourself!

When election date is announced, I gotta pack my things, buy a ticket and rush back to Muar.
