Meowing Cats in Lion City
Sunday, October 21st, 2007I don’t rear cats, although I do like them.Â
Â
I like to observe them…and started to think that sometimes it’s better off to be a cat.

If you have been following my posts, you’d know that I just whispered to all of you about my secret.
Perfect pitch is the ability of a person to identify or sing a musical note without benefit of a known reference (Quoted in Wikipedia). If that is too hard to understand, don’t worry, you are still normal.
It’s almost Hari Raya now…
You know? The best time during seasonal festivals is the countdown moment to the very day. This is why I chose to post this right now, when countdown is final.
I am quite sure that you won’t be able to see Hari Raya being celebrated by Muslims and non-Muslims except in Malaysia and Singapore. Non-Muslims witness how the Muslims fast food for one month before Hari Raya, feel and share the joy that is being shown on their faces and daily lifes and yes, we are entitled to enjoy a lot of special events together with them…(Holidays holidays holidays!!)
Not many people know that I play Yangqin.
The problem is: They may not even know what is a Yangqin.
“Hi, my name is qin, yangqin.”
I started learning Yangqin when I was 13. I didn’t even remember why I chose that instrument, I just felt that I prefer an instrument that can range well between treble and bass.
In an open performance years ago, a Caucasian went up to me and asked me what I am playing. I told him: “It’s Yangqin, or sometimes we called it the “Butterfly Hut“. If someone ask me again today, I will add another more professional term for it: “In Western countries, it’s a dulcimer“.
