2019 Chinese New Year Special: 过一个大肥年 Free Piano Sheet
Firecrackers, Chinese New Year goodies, lion dance, oranges and the festive songs kept appearing in my head this week. I have no choice but to pre celebrate Chinese New Year by creating this free piano sheet for everyone.
This year’s choice is “Have a Prosperous Year” (过一个大肥年). Performed by Jeanette Lin Chui (林翠), this is one classic oldies made popular by a movie in the 50’s.
The lyrics of this song is about what to do if the main character of this movie possesses 1 million. It’s really cute because you can feel that there’s so much hope in it, like the plan of founding a new hotel, a pawn shop, a grocery store etc. with the windfall.
And one things special about it is to think about the economy then and comparing it to today’s. 1 million is worth more than that today due to inflation.
